VideoChat Trouble Shooting
Having trouble getting VideoChat to work properly?

  • To ensure you are online and available to videochat with buyers, you need to be logged in to both Skype and ArtfulExplorer.
  • Make sure your Skype window is open, you’ve logged in, and set yourself to “Online.”
  • Go to Preferences in Skype and adjust your Privacy setting so that folks can see your status on the web, you’ll need to do that (just once) so your Skype status will show to buyers on ArtfulExplorer.
  • Login to ArtfulExplorer and click “Preview Gallery” in your dashboard to see what buyers will see. You should see the “I’m online” button.   Skype - Online Button
  • If you don’t see the “I’m online” button, be sure you’ve input your Skype ID (under Account settings in AE). If you’ve done this and still don’t see the “I’m online” button, double check that you’ve input your Skype ID correctly. If you’ve input it incorrectly, the “I’m offline message me” button will appear.Im Offline Button

I’m not set up for Skype; will I still be “seen” and be able to sell without it?

Getting set up for skype is very easy and free. But using skype is not required. Your gallery will still be visible and you will still be accessible via our internal messaging system.

Selling Art

How will I know if I sold anything?

When a buy goes through via PayPal, you will receive an email notification from PayPal that the monies went into your PayPal account. When the transaction is completed, we will also send you a congratulations email with info on how to update the listing in your gallery.

What do I do when my piece sells?

A happy dance. Then be sure to mail the piece out as agreed. You can contact the buyer with any questions you may have. Also, be sure to edit your gallery listing. You’ll have the option to mark the piece as sold and keep it in your gallery, delete it from your gallery altogether, or relist it.

Do I have to list my items with ArtfulExplorer exclusively?

No. We do not require any exclusivity agreement. But please be sure to promptly remove any listed items that are sold from your gallery.

How should I fill in the Shipping Info fields when adding artwork?

The shipping fields should be filled in with a brief description of the shipping method in the first box (on the left). Then a price in the second box (on the right). The price must be a number, not words. (Enter 0 if shipping is free.)
